Ripple Effect

Over the summer, we started an initiative to collect old computers, refurbish them, and donate them to people who are transitioning out of homelessness and into housing programs with Cornerstones.

I have had the opportunity to become good friends with one of the volunteers over at the Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston, VA, and she had very good news to tell me when I dropped off our latest batch of computers tonight.

Apparently, one of the women in the program was unable to get a promotion at her job because she did not have a computer to go online to do the training and receive her certification. Thanks to our donors and volunteers, she now has a computer and is currently in the process of working through her online certification to get the promotion!

It's incredible how one small act of kindness can have a ripple effect on the community. We are making a difference with everything we do: whether it is volunteering at the homeless shelter to serve meals or simply writing Valentine's cards for disabled vets, what we are doing matters and it wouldn't be possible without you!

"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects" -Dalai Lama

Throw your stone into the water! Positive change starts with you!

Thanks! Kevin
