Flower Power!

Spring is in the air! Let's deliver flowers to brighten the lives of elderly people living at retirement homes and health and rehab centers in the Northern, VA, DC, and Maryland areas! Please read below for more details.... 

WHO: We will be delivering flowers to the elderly who are living in assisted living, independent living, and memory care facilities. Some suffer from cognitive disorders such as dementia along with other physical ailments. Others are fully functional and need some assistance with their day-to-day tasks. 

WHAT: The goal is to deliver 300 bouquets of flowers over a two month period (March - April). The cost of each bouquet along with delivery will be $10. If you would like to purchase a bouquet for a senior, simply purchase a ticket by registering for this event below. If you would like to purchase more than one bouquet, please feel free to purchase multiple tickets. 

WHERE: This is a fundraising initiative. So you will be able to volunteer and contribute from the comfort of your own home! We will be posting pictures of the flower deliveries throughout the Spring, so please stay tuned to our social media accounts or the gallery/blog of the website. Note- I may have an event or two in the spring where volunteers can hand out flowers and engage with the elderly. Please be on the lookout for these events on our events page (www.barberafoundation.org/upcomingevents). 

WHEN: This is an on-going fundraising initiative from March-April.

WHY: The elderly community is near and dear to my heart! In addition to running the Barbera Foundation, I have a fitness business that provides seated chair exercise classes for the elderly. There is so much to learn from this community, and working with them has definitely made me a better, happier person. What better way to say thanks than to deliver flowers to them right?!
